Creating Stars

Last week I tipped my cap to Danella Companies for incorporating safety innovations into their trucking processes. This week I’d like to add Haney Truck Lines to the list of companies I admire.

Haney recently addressed the driver shortage/driver retention crisis by overhauling their compensation system to reward the drivers who perform the best. And the results are telling (from the article):

  • On-time delivery rates consistently higher than 90 percent;
  • Increasing driver compensation nearly 10 percent, with the potential for nearly 100 percent;
  • Driver turnover of less than 30 percent compared to industry averages of more than 90 percent;
  • In the trailing six months, a U.S. Department of Transportation-recordable accident rate of zero.

At Zion, our ethos is to treat drivers fairly, to serve our customers efficiently and effectively, and to give back to those who are less fortunate. In today’s dog-eat-dog world, it’s exciting to see other transportation companies with similar ideals.

Way to go Haney!
