What is the right kind of logistics company for your business to partner with? Should you work with an asset-based carrier? Or does a broker house that is “asset light” make more sense? XPO Logistics recently decided to go “asset heavy” by acquiring Con-way. Was that the right call? Wall Street insiders are critical of the move though industry insiders have been quoted, “You do need trucks to move the fright.” Time will tell if XPO made the right decision.
At Zion Transport this is a question we do not take lightly. Having assets (trucks) to move freight is important to us, but as smaller logistics company we know that we can be too “asset heavy” and lose our flexibility (and our ability to best serve you, our customers).
