I love our country. I hate our country. Yeah, I know… I love the opportunities we have. I love that we give liberally whenever there’s a disaster and people need aid. I love that we have a rule of law rather than a, “I’m in charge and whatever I say goes,” system of law.
One of the things I love is that we can defend ourselves when bad apple law enforcement agencies try to take advantage of uninformed citizens. Unfortunately, one of the things I hate is how many people want to take advantage of our freedoms by scamming and/or taking advantage of others.
Todd Dills, Senior Editor of Overdrive magazine, highlights Mark Bezley and his run-in with a small-town police scam and how his dashboard cam saved his bacon. It’s a great read and I highly encourage you to spend 3 minutes to read it.
Ladies and gentlemen truck drivers, I’ve seen the data, I know you all, collectively, are among the safest drivers on the road. But I also know that is not the perception others have of you. And I also know that there are bad apples out there who will take advantage of the perceptions others have truck drivers to make fraudulent claims to make a quick buck. Do yourself a favor. If you don’t already have one, invest in a dashboard video camera to protect yourself from these fraudulent claims.
Thanks for reading.
